Chanel Jacket 'Waterfall' Collection
This exquisite jacket is part of the 'Waterfall' collection unveiled at the Spring/Summer 2018 show by Chanel - designed under the creative direction of Karl Lagerfeld. Presented at the Grand Palais in Paris - transformed into a cascading riverscape that took two months to construct - the collection reimagined the house’s heritage with a fresh, fluid spirit.
The design stays true to the brand’s iconic tweeds, jackets and shift silhouettes, enhanced with playful plastic accessories that added a contemporary edge.
Crafted from “fantasy tweed” in a white and cobalt/light blue multicolour weave, the jacket incorporates richly textured cotton yarns interwoven with subtle Lurex threads for a luminous finish. It is fully lined in 100% silk, featuring the signature camellia jacquard - an enduring symbol of the house.
Distinctive details include raw, frayed edges along the collar, front, and cuffs, lending an effortless, deconstructed elegance. The hem is finished with Chanel’s signature chain, designed to ensure a perfect drape and graceful movement. Silver-tone CC logo “cufflink” buttons complete the piece with a refined, emblematic touch.
The silhouette offers a modern interpretation of the classic Chanel cardigan jacket: collarless, with a soft scoop neckline and an airy, lightweight structure that blends sophistication with ease.
